Military Growth Expected in El Paso

Hawk

According to sources, another 20,000 soldiers (and their families) are planning to transition into Fort

Bliss over the next few years, which includes two Brigade Combat Teams.

Although no formal discussions have been made discussion about the additions are certainly in the pipeline. For those military professionals that are familiar with the base say there is no better place for the expansion. The wide expanse of land and mountain desert terrain provides for great ground training and includes multiple live fire sites. Although the growth will be good for El Paso one question remains whether the city can sustain the growth to its current infrastructure.

The website maintains different reports based on dates, country or location of origin,  and cause of death. In addition, the names of most of the soldiers can be found on the website.

Extending Combat Tours in Iraq

Well, just got the news. Acting Army Secretary Pete Geren is considering extending combat tours again in Iraq. They are also considering adding to the role of Reservists once again.

I do not understand what is going on there at this point. The administration initially lied to us about the need to train the Iraqi army. That lie has now fallen by the wayside.

It is time to end this.

Soldiers Are Target of Scammers

I just read about some scam artist targeting our soldiers at Fort Benning and Fort Bragg. Two companies have been reportedly taken over $100k from soldiers. The companies have operated under the names Capital Consortium Group and Three Hebrew Brothers but may use other aliases. The scammers are bold enough to meet the soldiers at the bases to discuss investments that promise huge payoffs.
